How to Access & Perform Retirements

Retiring is a feature that you can access whenever you've raised Queen Elizabeth II 150 levels or more, which, prior to reaching one's first rebirth, takes a substantial amount of time. Retiring can allow you to claim Black Eggs, if you have any pending, and provides a bit of a boost to your statistics, both in the long run, and even when just starting out; in the latter instance, wherein one might be progressing solely on the power of unspent Black Eggs, and Good Knight levels.

Retirement will reset your White Eggs, Farmers, your claimed farm plot, distribution of Auto-Eggs, and your farm level.

Your inventory will not reset, even if you Retire.

When you confirm that you wish to Retire, you're given the option to spend, if you have enough Diamonds, (500 of them), to reset 75% of all Black Eggs spent since your last Rebirth/in the pre-rebirth phase.

How to Generate Black Eggs to Claim Upon Retirement

Pending Black Eggs are earned in one of two ways (the latter of which, becomes a staple-source of Black Eggs, post-Rebirth):

  • For every cumulative 2,000 Farmer Levels you've bought, accounting for all of your currently-hired farmers in your current run,
Or,
  • For each time you defeat a Mutated Boss.
    • The amount of black eggs received from a mutated boss increases, every 25 levels, and also, later, via modifiers from Rebirthing and distributing Golden Eggs to the Earth Phoenix Egg, as well as via a statistic called Rebirth Power, which becomes accessible post-Rebirth, increasing based on how many total Golden Eggs you've claimed.
    • Mutated bosses have a base 25% chance to spawn, only for the first time a boss level has been reached and a boss thusly spawns, from Farm Level 100, onwards, and that chance is modified if you level the Radioactive Easter Egg and Magnetism Phoenix Egg.
    • Bosses on each of their respective farm levels, can only have a chance to be mutated upon the first time they spawn; anytime that farm level's boss spawns again, once defeated, it won't appear as mutated, again, until you Retire or Rebirth.
      • Beware: although this typically shouldn't be an issue, (due to the nature of the current mechanics of the Timelapse feature, bought from the Dealer), any boss farm levels skipped past, where a boss would've otherwise spawned with a chance of mutation, are treated as completed (but, those skipped boss farm levels, won't ever spawn mutated bosses, if you return back to them).

Uses & Effects of Black Eggs:

They can can be spent to hatch, or level, Easter Eggs, which, in varying ways, can improve a variety of statistics, and gain a series of buffs you'd never had access to, prior to Retiring, which generally make farm level progression easier, and faster.

Additionally, you can save them, rather than spend them, to gain +10% DPS to all farmers, additively, per unspent Black Egg.

  • (Regarding farmer DPS, that can alternatively be directly improved with certain Easter Eggs; namely & chiefly, the Good Knight, Turtle, AFK, and Wonderland Eggs. The former-most of which, is most ideal, pre-Rebirth.)

Alternatively, you can opt to spend Black Eggs, to reroll Easter Eggs, to have a chance to obtain a random new Easter Egg, based on whichever Easter Eggs you don't have hatched, yet. See the Easter Egg page for information on reroll costs.

  • Rerolling warns you it will "destroy" the egg you wish to replace, with a new Easter Egg, that starts back at level 1; you don't receive a refund of Black Eggs spent, leveling that Easter Egg.
    • Warning: if you happen to have already hatched all 22 Easter Eggs, and use the option to reroll an Easter Egg, that Easter Egg will disappear, until you rejoin the game. Beyond that point, rejoining should make the missing Easter Egg appear, again, with the levels it had before; it's unverified if, at other times, that Easter Egg may need to be hatched again, and if its levels will have been lost, where it'll need re-leveling.

Furthermore, claimed Black Eggs contribute to progress made towards earning pending Golden Eggs, which becomes important, in later game-phases.

  • Specifically, your lifetime total Black Eggs earned, affects how many Golden Eggs will start pending/become available to claim, once you unlock the Rebirth system, by completing Farm Level 300 or higher.
  • In order to generate 5 pending Golden Eggs, you have to have claimed a multiplicative of at least 10x higher Black Eggs, than you ever have, before, in your lifetime of playing.

Altogether, the nature of the game focuses on rewarding you, for earning as many black eggs as possible (or, rather, more Black Eggs, which is possible through upgrading Easter and Phoenix Eggs), and enables progressing to higher farm levels, and accessing later content.

It is recommended to get 10-20 Black Eggs for your first Retirement, and, ideally, 100 total Black Eggs, before your first Rebirth.
